No operations; Squadron stood down - moon period.

 

Ground training carried out as usual.

 

Flying Training

Nil: weather totally unsuitable for flying training.

 

ELSHAM WOLDS

Catering:

Three more pigs from the Station Farm were slaughtered for distribution as on 06 January.

 

CO's Parade:

Commanding Officer's Parade followed by a full manning practice of all Defence Sectors of the mobile squadron.

 

Entertainment:

Cinema show held in the evening (feature film title not recorded)

Day

Widespread mist or fog with visibility 500 to 1500 yds. Extensive areas of low stratus with a base of 800 ft or lower, particularly over the Wolds.

 

Wind southerly 10 mph.

 

Night

Cloudy with occasional rain after 0615 hrs. General mist and local fog, but the visibility slowly improving to 1-3 miles generally by dawn. Cloud base 400 to 800 ft, lifting slowly to 1500 to 2000 ft by dawn.

 

Wind moderate south-south-westerly.
