SATURDAY, 25 DEC 1943

Operations were ordered against Berlin, but were cancelled after 15 minutes early in the day and all Squadrons were stood down by No.1 Group.

Flying Training

1x night cross country.

ELSHAM WOLDS

Christmas Day: Airmen and Airwomen had Christmas dinner served in the Airmen's Dining Hall by Officers and Senior NCOs. An "All Ranks" Dance was held in the WAAF Dining Hall.

Personell: 15 aircrew cadets were attached from Heaton Park. Fg Off T I Jones was put in charge of these cadets, who were to be employed on various duties compatible with their aircrew status.

No.1 GROUP WEATHER

Day

Cloudy - local fog cleared only slowly to poor to moderate visibility generally. Cloud base was mainly 2000 to 3000 ft.

Winds moderate south-westerly.

 

Night

Cloudy - slight local rain fell in the evening, becoming fine in the second half of the night. The cloud base was generally about 2000 ft, but dropped to 1500 ft at times. Visibility was poor to moderate.

Winds moderate to light south-westerly to west-south-westerly.
