ELSHAM WOLDS

The body of Sgt Furie of 103 Sqn, killed in the mid-air collision at Ulceby on 16 December, was sent home to his relatives for burial. Entertainment: Corporals' Club Christmas Dance held in the evening.

No.1 GROUP WEATHER

Day

Cloudy with occasional slight rain, becoming moderate continuous between about 1400 and 1700 hrs with the passage of a cold front. The cloud base was generally about 2000 ft but 1000 ft near the front. Eventually the cloud broke and cleared almost to nil by dark. Visibility generally moderate.

Winds slightly fresh to strong, veering south-westerly behind the front and decreasing to light to moderate.

 

Night

Scattered showers, mainly in the latter part of the night. Small amounts of cloud increased after 0300 to 5-9/10 with a base of 1500 to 2500 ft. Visibility good.

Wind south-south-westerly to south-westerly, moderate to fresh.
