Crews resting from the previous night"s attack on Berlin. No operations were planned by 1 Group, and their Squadrons were stood down.

No.1 GROUP WEATHER

Day

Widespread stratus or fog with visibility below 500 yds; this improved slightly to 1000 to 1500 yds locally in the afternoon for a time. The cloud base was mainly below 600 ft, but on the surface over the higher ground of the Wolds.

Winds southerly, light to moderate.

 

Night

Widespread fog and stratus at 300 to 600 ft. Rain commenced at around midnight but stopped between 0300 and 0400 when the cloud broke up and cleared and the visibility improved to 2 to 4 miles. However, the visibility deteriorated locally to 500 to 1500 yds on the Wolds by dawn.
