No operations are planned for the next few days so an extensive air training programme was to be conducted as soon as the weather permitted.  

Flying Training

Crews were unable to fly due to the continued fog.

No.1 GROUP WEATHER

Day

Cloudy with very poor visibility and intermittent rain at first, but this improved slowly and the visibility became 1500 to 2000 yds by midday in continuous rain and a low cloud base of 400 to 800 ft. The visibility improved to 3 to 8 miles towards the end of the day, with the cloud base lifting to 7/10 at 1500 to 2500 ft and local patches of rain stratus, base 400 to 800 ft.

Winds easterly at less than 5 mph, increasing to 5 to 10 mph towards the end of the period.

 

Night

Mainly cloudy with 7/10 stratocumulus, base 1500 to 2000 ft and a few breaks of about 2200 ft.

Occasional local drizzle giving only moderate visibility.

Wind light easterly.
