Edward Arthur Frederick Cole was born on 26 October 1923, probably in Smallburgh, North Walsham, Norfolk. He had one brother, Albert, born in 1930, died 2010. From 1934-37 Edward attended Grafton Road School, Holloway, London and from 1937 until his enlistment in 1942 he was employed as a silk screen operator at Messrs. King & Flack, in Holloway. In 1941 he enrolled with the Air Training Corps (ATC) as a Cadet with the 1486 (Islington) Squadron. On 04 March 1944 he married Irene Maud Cartman in South Lambeth, London and it is believed they had three sons. Following a divorce he married Elizabeth O'Brien in Leicester on 29 October 1943. Their son Peter was born in 1955 and their daughter Sandra in 1959. On 27 August 1995, Edward died in Bristol, Avon. Cole family |
