Clifford Clamp was born 2 Apr 1921 at 1 Paul Street, Upper Ettingshall Road, Coseley, Bilston, Staffordshire, son of Edward Clamp (1893-1966) and Margaret ‘Ethel’ Fownes (1892-1955). He had a brother Wilfred ‘Wilf’ (1923-2001).
In September 1939 1939 he was living with his parents and brother at 11 Paul Street working as a junior railway porter.
On 11 Apr 1944 he died in air operations over enemy-occupied territory.
He is commemorated in the street where he grew up at Upper Ettingshall Methodist Church.
